JohnIn 1968 a group of community minded citizens worked together to form the Manly Warringah Social Welfare Committee. At this time, Pittwater was still part of Warringah so their plan covered the whole of our Northern Beaches.

Over the past 49 years, this fledgling group grew, through many changes and challenges, to become what is now a citizen owned non-profit public company, Northern Beaches Community Services Ltd.

Whilst Northern Beaches Community Services Ltd is the legal entity, it is better known to the public by its trading name "Community Connect Northern Beaches"

During the last 3 years "Community Connect Northern Beaches" has experienced an annual growth rate of 25% through the committed help of over 150 volunteers and 16 professional staff. To date, our much needed services have touched the lives of over 7680 people.

Our organisation strives to provide a first class, cost effective service to all people living in Manly, Warringah and Pittwater.

We are constantly researching and developing new innovative projects to help build a stronger, connecting community for all age groups within the Northern Beaches.

Our company can do this through the financial support of the NSW Department of Families and Community Services and the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing together with the support of major corporate donors such as Westpac as well as local businesses and community citizens.

Our Northern Beaches responsibility encompasses the two federal electorates of Mackellar and Warringah and the four state electorates of Manly, Wakehurst, Davidson and Pittwater. Our volunteers value the support of our parliamentary representatives and are most grateful for the additional support we receive from the Member for Mackellar, Jason Falinski and the Member for Davidson, Jonathan O'Dea.

Without this support, our professional staff, working together with our specially trained, skilled volunteer teams, could not successfully meet the challenge of our mission statement..."To deliver appropriate community services creatively, efficiently and effectively"
